First off I've put some performance things on which doesn't count.
The car is nice and in awesome shape (no rust, good paint and interior) but a p.o.s and will not buy one again. Its left me stranded quite a few times and I've only had it since December 2005 cause I wrote my truck off in a accident. I have owned dodge all my life up til now with no troubles and will likly go back to them. I am a 3rd year automotive tech and am scared to leave town with this car. It runs good, but have replaced two voltage regulators, a battery, u-joints, third gear shifts hard into over-drive (talked to ford they said just about all them do it and the trannys are weak), replaced entire exhuast and now the alternator fryed.
Rather worrying that a trainee mechanic thinks a 19 year old car should have all the reliability of a new one...
Also rather worrying that a trainee mechanic did not do a prepurchase inspection of his vehicle. Most, if not all, of these issues should be been recognized given the problems occurred within a few months of his ownership.
I agree with the two comments. This is less a complaint about a particular model of car, than a testament to carelessness. A pre-inspection check would have shown this PARTICULAR car to have weaknesses. Not a useful posting.
