1991 Mercury Grand Marquis LS review from North America
"Big, awesome ride, if you don't mind the heat!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Power steering pump went out around 39,000.
Transmission pan gasket failed.
Alternator went out around 45,000.
Thermostat went out last year.
A/C went out two years ago.
Only the drivers side window works correctly presently.
Muffler fell off.
General comments?
Bought this car as a daily driver, and I'm certainly not disappointed. I love that boat like ride, and the extra-comfortable interior.
Certainly a car of reasonable power as well, I can't complain on the highway. Gas mileage is very surprising, and a bit odd, I get around 17 or so in town, but for some strange reason I get around 29 or so on the highway?? I take a lot of road trips so that's a definite plus.
Right now it has a small water pump leak, and the A/C compressor is out. Also, both back windows go down, but you have to pull them up, the front passenger side window is stuck up, and the automatic locks don't work.
It's just a big boxy land yacht that hopefully has a lot of life left in her, as I have no intention of getting rid of it.
