1990 Mercury Grand Marquis LX review from North America
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Alternator at 150k miles.
Water pump at 120k miles.
Original exhaust replaced from the convertors back at 150k miles.
Valve cover gaskets replaced at 100k miles.
All repairs were very inexpensive.
General comments?
I paid $5000 for this car in 1998 and it does not owe me a dime now. I intend to keep it until it decintigrates. Has 152k miles on it now and still looks, runs, and drives excellent - and this is in Buffalo, NY which is quite hard on cars. With regular maintenance these big Fords last and last.
I always look forward to driving this car even if just around the corner to the store. By far the best of the 10 cars I have owned in my life thus far.
