1974 Mercury Grand Marquis Brougham review from North America
"Its scizophrenic yellow and and nick named the Exxon Valdez"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Drivers side rear window wouldn't go up or down. The dealer wanted $85 for a new electric window motor. I took it apart, figured out what was wrong and went to Lowes and spent 80 cents on two plastic rings and fixed it myself.
Replaced front transmission seal.
New 3 core radiator.
Had to JB weld top plate of carb to main body do to warpage, no gas leaks anymore.
General comments?
The car came from Colorado and has always been garaged. The interior is like brand new and the body is straight and clean. The vinal top has no tears.
People are amazed by how new the entire car looks.
Beautiful car, but hard to sell.
