2002 Mercury Mountaineer Premiere review from North America
"It could have been better especially with the fact that it look visually pleasing"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Transmission problems.
Rattling sound in Engine.
Didn't have default code for key less entry in the car.
General comments?
The day I test drove the car it was great. It looked classy, the interior was great. I was so happy about the fact that I was able to purchase a 2002 that had the appearance of a 2004-2005. After I left the dealer the car started rattling and ticking. The car begin to drag as if I was forcing it to drive. The rattling got louder as I accelerated. This vacuumm sound started on the second day. Every few minutes it would sound like it is vacuuming. Fortunately I took it back to the dealer and they put it in the shop. I am now getting a brand new engine on the dealer. I am happy with the fact that they are replacing the engine with no discomfort to me other than the dealership has had my SUV for 2 weeks now and I am driving a loaner from them, a car which I do not like and said I'd never purchase. Over all it has been a experience that I have never had with purchasing a vehicle.
