1997 Mercury Mystique GS review from North America
"Cheap all around"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Radiator bad, thermostat shot, head gasket blew due to burst hose, blower switch melted, radio intermittent, passenger window switch is bad, radiator fan will not come on, etc...
General comments?
This car is great if you put up with its problems and do repairs yourself. paid $300 for it and have put about 1 grand into it since. tons of problems, but usually easy to live with or fix. great gas mileage too. cylinder head was rebuilt for $500 when the head gasket blew. engine now has some piston slap at startup when cold, but it generally runs fine.
You should probably stay away if you plan on using a mechanic for repairs.
