1993 Mercury Sable LS review from North America
"Beautiful!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
In the nearly ten years I've owned this vehicle, I have due to general wear and tear, replaced serpentine belt and two batteries, a set of brakes and two sets of tires.
Three years ago rebuilt the transmission and recently had the engine replaced with new when head gasket finally blew.
About the only problem I have now is that the door seals, due to age are beginning to crack which creates a lot of road/wind noise.
General comments?
I have owned a fair amount of cars over the years and in all honesty it is by far, the best car I have ever owned!
Sure, I have dealt with the standard issues regarding the Sable (transmission, head gaskets etc..) However, by and large the repair costs on this long paid for car, have been far less than the purchase price of a new car!
It runs like a fine watch on the highway and in town, the body and interior are like new with simple care and cleaning.
