1989 Mercury Topaz 4 door review from North America
"Slow, ugly, but reliable"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The clear coat have started to fall off.
The seats wore down quite fast.
The valve cover needed replacement two times because of leakage.
The engine mounts needed replacement tow times because of breakage.
The lower ball joints needed replacement three times.
I don't know what is wrong, but the vehicle is vary slugish, tune up's and new catalytic converter was no help.
Needed new power steering pump at 250,000k.
Lots of other problems, but were miner.
General comments?
I am a 17 year old kid and I drive the hell out of this car, man this car can take a beating. Let me tell you, this car is vary reliable and can take a lot. So parents if you are looking to buy a car or helping a sibling get a car I think this car is a good idea you can pick one up cheap and they don't go fast and you can drive it vary rough so it is a vary good first car.
