1992 Mercury Topaz review from North America
"An awesome, but plain car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Not a whole lot had gone wrong with this car.
The brakes seemed to "pop" when stepped on in normal driving conditions, but still worked fine.
The clock radio display did not show sometimes. For example, at night, the green back-light would not come on, sometimes due to a loose wire.
Other than that the car ran perfectly.
General comments?
We bought this car from relatives who kept it in great shape.
It did not have a lot of power on hills, but on straight stretches the car would fly.
The seats were not luxury, but were not uncomfortable.
The Plain-Jane structure of the car was awesome for a new or beginner driver. The less things there were, the less things that could go wrong.
Overall, I loved this car.
