1993 Mercury Tracer review from North America
"Great Inexpensive Car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The first week I had the car, I had to replace the thermostat. (Simple and easy)
About 1 1/2 months later, we had to change the head gasket. (The cost of a new head gasket, and other seals and gaskets that needed to be changed was only about $150 TOTAL)
General comments?
This car is the first ford product in my family. This is my first car, I am 16, and I love my mercury. It burns no oil. The gas mileage is amazing. It gets about 25 MPG in the city, and about 33 MPG on the highway.
It has NEVER stalled on me, always reliable. It gets me savely to my destination.
It is only a little four cylinder engine, but it KICKS.
The interior of the car is nice. Not a single rip or tear on the inside.
When I bought the car, about a week later I put in a new CD/FM/AM radio. It was the easiest installation I have ever done. The old radio's face plate just pops off.
I have owned it since Feb. 17, 2006. And as of May 6, 2006, I had put 1,572 miles on it. It runs great.
