1994 Mercury Villager GS review from North America
"One of the best partnership vehicles ever made!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
When we bought our Villager, we replaced:
ball joints.
Drivers side tie rod end.
Front struts.
Tires.
All belts (timing belt etc.)
And the battery.
Total came up to $1.200, (some things we did for ourself.)
We have had no problems with this van, we also own a '97 Pontiac Trans Sport and we think the handling is close to the same in both, stiff and soft at the same time, it's a all around good van.
The only problem we found is the engine feels a bit underpowered compared to our Trans Sport, (it's a 3.4 compared with a 3.0) and another problem we are getting now is the exhaust manifold is leaking and we will be replacing the studs soon, after reading online reviews on villagers I found out it's a problem with these vans.
General comments?
The van is smooth and is a pretty good size for a family of 4 and a dog!
