1996 Mercury Villager 3.0 review from Netherlands
"An invitation to drive!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Steering parts
flashing light for the airbag
start security
brake.
General comments?
Fantastic car which is for me an invitation to drive. I love it. The car is not suitable for sportly driving as it is fairly slow from start and drinks gasoline heavily. But when you drive defensively it is a very comfortable car with acceptable gasoline use.
Steering parts, fusee bullets we call them, were replace at 210.000 km (168000 miles).
The airbag lights keep on flashing, no idea how to stop them.
The start security we disabled as is was no longer reliable. The car is however 10 years old now and less attractive to steal.
The brakes are not so smooth anymore.
