1999 Mitsubishi Colt Mirage review from UK and Ireland
"A reliable second hand bargain"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The passenger seat rattles over bumps and can be difficult to slide forwards and backwards.
Front headlight steams up, but this looks like previous crash damage has affected the seals.
General comments?
Considering the car has only 90BHP it pulls cleanly in any gear with an impressive amount of torque, although I cannot get any better than 34MPG on a mixed journey of motorway and city driving.
The handling is grippy with predictable understeer if pushed, it seems too well damped which does cause pot-holes to be felt, there is a fair amount of road noise transfered into the cabin, but the engine is very quiet.
The interior is a bit boring with a sea of grey plastic, but it all laid out neatly and is easy to use.
Apart for the passenger seat rattling and the difficulty in adjusting it there has been nothing that has gone wrong with this great little car, but hate the standard 13" alloy wheels.
