1993 Mitsubishi Diamante 2.5v Fulltime 4wd review from Australia and New Zealand
"New it would be great, 2nd hand it's a lemon"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Just after the car was delivered it was idling too high causing the car to clunk when changing down to stop at intersections, Replaced stepper motor which didn't fix problem so had to get computer overhauled to remedy problem cost all up $600.
Rattle started in front suspension about 5000k ago replaced a $100 linking rod didn't fix it garage said shocks were fine and couldn't see any other problems, I think the front shocks were stuffed.
Last, but not least Auto trans has just broken and it is too dear to fix so have written the car off.
It was a Japanese import so I now think the mileage may not have been correct.
Paid $2600 for it Repairs to date $700 Trans repair quotes $1500 or $3000 full Trans rebuild. Car was using 1 Litre oil to 1300K sold to wrecker for $150.
General comments?
Lovely car to drive, before the rattle started. Spacious interior with nice accessories, rear interior personal lights, front seats had left hand armrest.
Great acceleration which is why I chose the 2.5 model rather than the 3 Litre version.
Bit thirsty on fuel 8k to the litre on open road.
