2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT review from North America
"An wanna be sports car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
We bought this car in the winter and did not try ac well, now we tried it and does not appear to work.
The cruise control does not work. The light comes on, but it will not maintain any speed.
The car had anti-lock brakes as an option and of course this car did not have them on it. Who would by a car that goes 140 mph and not have anti-locks? Consequently the car is terrible on snow, I live in Idaho!
The 17 inch tires are near impossible to find studded snow tires for it.
The rear driver speaker has died.
The radio goes to static when the rear defroster is turned on.
Just assumed with only 59000 miles on it that the car would mechanically be in as good a shape as it looked, was I wrong. Terrible to get into and out of also.
Lots of road noise enters the interior.
Terrible view out of the cockpit.
General comments?
The car will go like lighting on dry pavement well past 130 mph. Shifts and handles better the faster that you drive it.
OK gas mileage compared to the 95 Tahoe we have.
