1991 Mitsubishi Galant GLS review from Gibraltar
"Tranquil, but way too heavy"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I piece of internal air piping from just above the pedals fell off when I got into the car a bit enthusiastically one day - my fault really, still got it, but haven't bothered to put it back.
Synchromesh has gone in 1st (before I got it) but provided you don't shove it into gear rapid its perfectly drivable although should not have happened at low mileage - that's the trouble with Gibraltar cars, only ever in first and second gear...
Intermittant wash wipe does not work.
General comments?
Nice inside, well equiped with a/c, elec sunroof, front and back elec windows.
Engine is smooth. Drives well. Like the stance, even with standard wheels fills the arches.
Only complaint: way WAY WAAAAY too heavy for the engine. Has little acceleration on the 1.8 16v carb engine especially with a/c on. Its too big, bonnet longer than my 3 series BMW which has a 3 litre straight 6. In comparison the cabin is too small.
Other than that, like it, but only because I have a faster car to be aggressive with at the weekends.
