1998 Mitsubishi Galant Viento review from Australia and New Zealand
"Awesome family sedan"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Outer tie rod ends at 95,000km.
General comments?
We have had this car for over 100,000km, and really haven't done anything to it.
The economy is outstanding. My record for a full tank is 841km from Alexandra to Blenheim, which took 61 litres. Normally we will get about 650-700km otherwise.
If you get into 3rd gear at 100kmh (using the tiptronic) you can accelerate up most large hills, and the handling is the best combination of stiff ride and comfort I have ever experienced.
There is ample room especially in the boot (or for Americans, the trunk).
Will buy another one if this one ever dies, or will probably just replace the motor.
