1987 Mitsubishi Galant review from North America
"Worth every penny of the $19,000 I paid for it"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Transmission evidenced some slipping just before the 70K miles manufacturer-extended warranty expired. Dealer agreed 10k miles later that it was slipping, replaced it with a modified transmission at no cost, and restarted the 60k warranty.
At just over 100k, started having trouble with the reactive suspension. Replaced both front shocks (very expensive). At 130k the suspension compressor died. Dealer wanted over $800 to replace a device you can hold in the palm of your hand.
Having trouble with water leaks around the moon roof seal.
General comments?
This thing has been a wonderful car; a joy to drive and a technological marvel.
The leather seats are very comfortable on long trips.
Never heard of a reclining REAR seat before!
The sound system continues to be superb.
I still use it as a backup when my Toyota needs time in the shop. With the pneumatic suspension not working, the ride is really rough, but it still runs great!
