1995 Mitsubishi Galant S review from North America
"A very fun family sedan"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
All sorts of little things, mostly wear items: tie rod end, brakes, wheel bearing, plugs & wires.
The water pump started grinding/leaking about 2 months before I got rid of it.
Distributor went out a few weeks after I got it.
Burned some oil.
Power Steering leaked.
Lower radiator support rusted through.
General comments?
Yes, I had some problems with this car, but it wasn't all that bad.
The car spent its whole life in Ohio, which explains the underbody rusting problem, the body was remarkably solid though.
For the mileage, the problems were to be expected, and the previous owners didn't do much in the way of regular maintenance.
Plenty of power for a 4 cylinder. Would roast the tires into 2nd gear at high rpm shifts.
Fuel economy was decent with my driving habits. I would get mid 20's driving it hard, and close to 30 with easier driving.
I actually enjoyed driving this car more than I do my current 2007 Dodge Caliber.
