1997 Mitsubishi L400 Super Exceed review from Hong Kong
"Tough as a rock"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Seriously underpowered - the 2.4 SOHC pertrol powered unit cannot take care of this huge thing. I have reservations in driving this L400 up hills when it is fully loaded.
Stupid gearbox ever built - the box is lazy enough, refusing to change the gear where necessary and I need to floor it in order to make it happen.
Save as above, nothing. Each and every single button functions well. Pretty amazing, huh?
General comments?
I bought it at a very cheap price, allowing me to use it in a robust manner, and this L400 so far proved to me the built quality is of an outstanding standard.
The space insided is almost as same as that of a Toyota Alphard or a Nissan Elgrand.
Fully equipped. You may find nearly all comfort equipment in this 1997 MPV: Front-rear auto climate control with LCD display, powered sunroof in front and crystalite roof with electric sliding shades in rear, electric curtains, 4 captain seats (1st and 2nd flods), rear sliding door with electric easy-closure system... etc. I consider the only thing missing is just the electric sliding door.
