Back brake light (interior in back window) fell out, other small stuff.
Pretty good and reliable cars for the money you spend. Economy is good on the open road and not back around town. Depreciation is a worry, but all cars this size are suffering. I recommend one simply on the value and reliabity stakes. You just can't get another car in the same category with this much fruit for this price. We paid AU$16k for a 18 month old car with another 3.5 years of new car warranty and 45,000k on the clock. It drives well and yes the looks are not that flash, but for a run about for kids etc you can't beat them.
I have a 2005 ES Diamante (Aussie Magna). Had it from new, now has 44000k's on it. These are powerful and a pleasure to drive. Very reliable as long as they are maintained according to Mitzi specs.
Had 1 speaker replaced and 1 minor engine oil leak fixed under warranty (they can sometimes leak out of camseals like my old V3000)
This is my 3rd Diamante, and I am buying a 380 GT as my next car.
Resale also poor in N.Z. but great value.
I should have mentioned in my comments on Diamante/Magna 31st Oct 2009. Run these cars on premium unleaded, not that 91 stuff, and you get better fuel economy (8.1 ltr/100km on a trip) and they really start to fly, as well as a bit quicker and smoother through the gears.
