1993 Mitsubishi Mirage Cyborg R review from UK and Ireland
"There is nothing quicker for the money!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Gearbox synchromesh worn when I bought the car, replaced at 51,000 miles.
Poor performance at idle speeds during warm up, once warm the engine is superb.
General comments?
This car really surprised me, every time I accelerate I cannot believe that it has only got a 1600cc engine. My previous car was a Toyota MR2 Turbo and would struggle to keep up with this road legal rocket.
The engine is glorious, I keep the synthetic oil fresh because I love to hear the howl of 8,500 RPM through the non cat exhaust and Piper-cross filter.
The handling is very good with the KYB lowered suspension, front and rear strut braces and 17 inch alloy wheels I have fitted.
The interior is not very good, very plain and plastic, but that's not what the car is about, it was built for speed, hence no soundproofing!
