1989 Mitsubishi Mirage Standard review from Australia and New Zealand
"Great car to drive, hassle free if not a bit featureless with interior"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
When I bought the car I had to spend about $600 for a tune up which included new brakes.
General comments?
This car is a great drive. Its quite nippy for its size, but its definitely nothing extraordinary.
Its small and light which makes it a beauty to park around town.
The fuel consumption is pretty good. A full tank would cost me about $50NZD to fill. Please also note that in New Zealand we pay $5 per gallon for petrol.
There was no interior light so when you got in to start the car in the dark it was hard to find everything.
There was only an AM radio in the car. Not even an FM radio or a cassette.
The seating was nice and comfortable if not a bit worn.
It had a speed alarm for when you went over 102km and if you left the lights on without the keys in the ignition it would scream like a banshee.
It needed no repairs during the time I owned it (5 months) and the people bought it off actually told me that they'd wished they'd kept it and sold their other car.
