1985 Mitsubishi Pajero NB review from Australia and New Zealand
"All in all it's a hard wearing car that can take a lot of abuse and still wants more!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Each of the problems I have encountered aren't surprising considering how I drive this car, although I do regularly service the engine.
Brake master cylendar started leaking brake fluid about a month after purchase.
Rear shock absorber broke doing stupid stunt driving.
Universal joint needed replacing.
Altinator needed replacing.
Distributer became moist driving at speed through mud and puddles and from doing the occasional river crossing $7 can of CRC in the back fixes this problem easily.
General comments?
Car has very limited power, but will take you through almost any terrain you throw at it (as long as you don't run out of suspension play) often letting the tyres down to around 10 - 18 psi makes it unstoppable on any sandy beach.
Very reliable have had no major problems with the vehicle that couldnt be fixed by spraying CRC on it.
A lot of cargo space great for camping, rear seats that fold into a double bed which are also good for camping (a little uncomfortable, but nothing a couple of beers before bed can't sort out)
Loaded both a trailer and the rear cargo area of vehicle up to its maximum capability (had things hanging out the windows and things tied onto the sides of the trailer because I ran out of space kind of load) and didn't notice the difference in power only an increased fuel consumption.
