1989 Mitsubishi Pajero review from UK and Ireland
"Well built and tough 4x4 truck, great workhorse, but a bit thirsty on fuel"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Nothing at all; very reliable for a 19 year old truck.
General comments?
Big true 7 seater 4x4 truck; great vision & very easy to drive with the auto box, & very comfortable with the adjustable sprung front seats (although they don't push back very far!).
A great vehicle for towing trailers, horse boxes or the odd trip off road, shooting, fishing etc.
Fuel consumption is so-so; I found it impossible to get more than 25mpg.
Handling is not great due to the nature of the truck, but you do get a strange feeling of safety & security (if I ever have a crash, I would prefer to be in one of these).
Maybe just my problem, but I found it difficult to drive safely on the road in the snow due to the weight of the truck & the lack of engine braking from the auto box (my first auto box & probably my last!).
