1995 Mitsubishi Pajero XR-II SWB from UK and Ireland - Comments

"Funky chunky monkey"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Rear brake rubbing slightly, caused hot rear wheel!

Vibration through steering due to poor wheel balancing. (Apparently quite common as large 16" 265 section tyres are a pig to setup).

General comments?

Brilliant high up driving position gives good visibility especially on country roads and coming up to junctions.

Easy to drive with light steering and brakes.

Auto transmission smooth although is keen to kick-down (poss. just my right foot is too heavy).

Handling good for a 2 tonne tank!

No ABS and can easily lock front wheels in an emergency.

Fuel economy is poor for a car, but OK for a 4x4. (25MPG).

Overall the car is very clean for its age, everyone who has seen it doesn't believe that it is 9yrs old, and feels as if it will go on forever. Lots of equipment, front and rear independent air con - elec. mirrors + windows - seats that make a double bed - windscreen wiper de-icer - compass and so on!!!, all seams well made and screwed together. Not had this car long, but hopefully will live up to initial impression.
