1998 Mitsubishi Shogun from UK and Ireland - Comments

10th Jul 2004, 13:00

"A luxurious fuel-thirsty, excellent towing vehicle, only worth buying if really needed."

What things have gone wrong with the car?

The driver's door lock doesn't accept the key.

The exhaust manifold blew at 45000 miles.

The air conditioning leaks and has to be refilled each Summer.

The near side, rear anti-roll link bar has had to be replaced.

General comments?

An excellent towing vehicle. We regularly tow a horse box with two horses and there is no problem.

The automatic transmission is superb in heavy traffic.

The interior is hard wearing and luxurious.

I'm having a lot of problems with the dashboard electronics in my 1998 GLS V6 3500. The handbrake Light stays on all the time. The 4x4 indicating lights flash off and on and one has gone altogether. Apart from these problems mine has been a dream. They are a star to drive.

I have just bought a 2.5 diesel Animal I would appreciate contact with other users, as it looks like I have a few problems with minor electric's like mirrors and cigarette lighter.
