1990 Mitsubishi Space Wagon GLX from UK and Ireland - Comments

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Fuel pump had to replaced. Rear lock tempremental (automatic switch does not work as lever falls off!) and can require removal of panel. Exhaust fell apart. Washer water indicator only works in reservoir for headlamp washer (useful!). I'd put these all down to wear and tear.

General comments?

Cheapest people carrier I could find (same age, same price Espaces had double the mileage). Lacks storage if rear seats in use. Legroom might become an issue when the younger kids get longer limbs. The wife likes it because it is more like a car than a van compared with other people carriers.

I'm from Australia and the space wagon is called a Nimbus GLX over here. My nimbus (space wagon) was a 1990 model and a 1997cc (2 Litre) 4 cylinder accompanied with a 5 speed manual, at the moment it has 170,000kms (106,000miles) on the clock and going strong not a single thing wrong with it and I reckon there won't be for atleast another 160,000kms (100,000miles) or even more, its the smoothest and best 4 cylinder I have had the pleasure of maintaining. Regular servicing is a must, oil changes every 5000kms (3200miles). Only gearbox problems is if put into reverse to fast it will crunch! Has done since I picked it up from the dealer ship. I found that if you put automatic transmission fluid in the manual it doesn't crunch in reverse as much, you get smoother and easier gear changes and a longer lasting gearbox, because it is a higher quality fluid. I love the car like feel even though it's a people mover. I love my Nimbus (space wagon) and don't think we will ever part! If you ever get the chance to buy one I strongly recommend it!

I have had my car for a year now, and so far it has been a really good car. Apart from moving the family around, I use it to carry my working things around. It is surprising what you can get in the back of one.
