"A sport car with 250000 miles. Nissan did it"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

The check engine light turned on. I fixed it for $150.

The fuel pump died. Fixed with a refurbished part for $370.

General comments?

When I bought this car with 244000 miles, I thought first I made a big mistake.

But the car has been extremely reliable for such mileage. I have had it for a year and half now and I am still very satisfied.

Otherwise, the performance of the car is really amazing.

The car does not leak any fluid.

The 2.4L engine is still in a good condition except the timing chain, which is going to give up very soon. A shame I'm asked around $1000 to change it. If it had been more affordable, I would have fixed that for sure...

If you look in here, the timing chain is the first recall issued (Feb '89). From other people's experiences with this car they seem to have the same, expensive problem. The sooner you can get it replaced, the better. I doubt you could still get a refund from Nissan for this, but it doesn't hurt to ask.
