1989 Nissan 240SX Standard review from North America
"The little engine that can, will, and still amazes me..."
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The timing chain guard has been chewed up and it makes a noise when starting.
Water pump just went out (regular maintenence)
Driver's side seat starting to tear.
Stereo too small.
In car noise is somewhat high. (the exhaust is loud on the inside of the car, mainly I guess because it is a performance exhaust, but it was still somewhat loud then)
The fuel injectors were cracked.
The oxygen sensor went bad, but it was the cause of a bad connection at the airflow meter (my error)
3rd brake light just won't work for some reason, maybe a defect?
General comments?
Overall the car runs and drives great. It has four wheel independent suspension, and it is a rear-wheel drive thus it is a lot of fun. I've taken it racing several times and run the crap out of it, and it still runs great (much to everyones surprise). I've upgraded the intake as well as the exhaust, and I'm going to put a 300zx differential for a different gear ratio. The suspension handles wonderfully, worth noting twice, and the interior is nicely shaped.
