1992 Nissan 240SX SE review from North America
"An American Silvia; fast, classy, and unique"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Very minor rust at the corner of the sunroof.
Seats are starting to show some wear and need to be recovered.
Replaced the suspension at 120,000 miles.
General comments?
I replaced the original 2.4l KA24DE engine this past spring for the Japanese 2.0l turbocharged SR20DET engine. This engine is very fast. It feels like a new car.
Also the car is weighted better with the lighter engine up front, giving this rear-wheel drive coupe incredible handling.
The interior is very nice, though it is starting to show its age. But I will be replacing it soon with some nice Italian Leather which should give it a classy touch.
I love the exterior of this car. It looks a lot like a little Skyline. Especially with the black pin-stripping and the black strip around the car taken off. I would highly recommend doing this to your 240SX, it will update it a lot. Also the gunmetal 17 inch wheels look great.
This car with the Japanese engine is like no other. Where I live there are only about 6 including me with this done. That engine really turns the car into a beast.
I plan on never getting rid of my car. But then again, who would get rid of a 300hp, turbocharged, rear-wheel drive sports car anyways?
