1997 Nissan 240SX Standard review from North America
"The handling of the car is superb, but the stock engine is very weak"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
There was a little bit of interior damage from the car sitting out in the sun. (This was from the previous owner.) Also, the brakes wore out soon after I started driving the car, and I have since had these replaced. Otherwise, I have had no problems besides regular maintenance things.
General comments?
I purchased this car as a base for a fast project car. Due to its relative light weight and even weight distribution, it has great handling characteristics. I was not disappointed when I finally got the car. Even with stock suspension components and liquid-filled bushings, the handling and steering were amazing. I have added aftermarket suspension components from HKS, Cusco, and SPL, which have made the handling even better. Unfortunately, the stock power is quite low although the KA24DE engine in this car can handle massive power on stock internals. I would say that the power is the only down side of this car. I have made a website concerning this car and my buildup on the project (http://www.240edge.com). You can find more info there.
