1984 Nissan 2 X 4 Truck Kingcab review from North America
"A classic example of hell on wheels"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I love this truck. It is a mechanic's dream; every time you drive it, just like a Harley, it finds some new way to surprise you. The fuel pump goes out causing stalls in traffic. The heater went out burning up the fuse box at 200,000 miles. There is valve tapping and occasional backfires. I moved here from high altitude so there is trouble with vacuum lines and smog equipment. The muffler had to be replaced. The fuel filter clogs often, and the spark plugs are often in need of cleaning.
General comments?
Still, I love my truck. When I was younger I often went to the beach in southern California in my buddy's King-cab, with the surfboards tied across the back. And I have romped through mud and ice in NE Washington, often stopping to pull hapless 4x4 F-150's out of the mud.
I only pray to God there's someone somewhere who knows how to repair Nissan's greatest little truck, because mine is ailing.
