1983 Nissan 2 X 4 Truck XE review from North America
"Best, most reliable, vehicle I've ever owned"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Anti backfire valve at 200 miles.
Alternator at 100,000.
Front shocks at 110,000.
Alternator at 135,000...replaced for free.
Clutch at 170,000.
Speedometer cable at 180,000..
Center shaft bearing and ball joints at 230,000.
Center shaft bearing at 250,000.
General comments?
King Cab bought new in Sept. 1983.
Late year production matches 1984 model parts.
A little under powered for towing, but runs fine without a heavy load.
Nap-Z engine has a tendency to backfire usually from 2nd-3rd gear. Though, not loudly.
This vehicle has been wrecked twice. Front-end at about a year old and the rear-end at about 10.
Overall..this has been the finest and most useful vehicle I"ve ever owned. I've spent nearly nothing on it in nearly 20 years. Even the paint looks good in areas where it wasn't wrecked then repainted.
