During the time I owned my 300ZX, I had to replace only the Injectors, costly, but gave the engine a new performance...
Considering that the previous owner didn't take care of it, the restoring to original condition was tedious, but the result rewarding.
It's perfect if you like an expensive car performance for a very low investment.
I previously owned turbos, but this one has a lot of punch, without being turbo.
The cockpit is more comfortable than you will expect from a car of its size, with lots of space.
Finally, the thing I like the most, is that I like every time I get into it to drive, which is not something you can normally say of any car...
I just bought my 1986 300zx for $1,600. One owner. All the options, power everything, the T-tops do'nt even leak. All, but the A/C and Radio work. A female voice even tells me when I leave the lights on ect... I had this car looked over by my mechanic before I bought it. He even put it on the lift and looked under it. All he said was I should change the Timing belt because we don't know when it was replaced last. I told him I bought it as a project car and wanted to drop about $3000 in it, but nothings wrong with it... The paint still shines, and all major engine parts seem to be original. Factory wheels too. If only all $18,000 cars were still made this well, we would all have money in the bank.
