High beam switch failed twice.
Had to replace rack n pinion.
Window seals have become unglued.
T-tops leak.
Exhaust system rusted out.
Mass air flow sensor went out at 60k.
I've owned several 300ZX's. They all have a lot of common problems, but the engines are bulletproof. I've never had a major problem with the engine on any of them. If you take care of them they'll always bring you home. Great for performance, however, pricey on maintenance. Good base car with lots of potential and a lot of power if tuned correctly.
Well, the car was 16 years old when you bought it and has probably done 256000 miles, not 56000... your problems sound like fair wear and tear to me.
