1984 Nissan 300ZX GLL from North America - Comments

HI.

I have a 1984 300zx, the dash is electronic, and the RPM gauge isn't working!!! I also have another 300zx same thing, but with t-tops and a non-electronic gages. Can't I just use that one? Or is there a another way to fix it because I like the electronic dash. Please if you have a comment send it to

My girlfriend has an '84 non-turbo. It's only got about 90k on it and it still runs great. But yes, her speedometer doesn't work either! It works about 50% of the time. The other 50% she's supposedly going the top-speed, lol. Her speedometer is not digital though.

I also have a 1984 300zx turbo, 5 speed. digital dash. I am the original owner and the car has 54k miles. Its always been dealer serviced and runs like a champ. Recently the tack, speedometer, fuel gauge, etc went black so I cannot see any readouts when driving. The security light continues to flash when the car is off and when the ignition key is turned on the various lights across the top of the dash light up and then go black when the engine starts. I've gotten various feedback from people that indicate the light control cluster is bad, the bulb is burnt out, or it's a bad fuse (it isn't) and I'm not comfortable taking the dash apart without some knowledgeable input. Can anyone help? If it is the "light control cluster" is there a source where I may find one at a reasonable price? The dealer wants $580 for the part with no guarantee that it is the problem. Help. Hi, I'm taking the motor out of my 1984 300zx and replacing it with another motor from a 1986 300zx.

Any tips or pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Also I have the same problem with my gas gauge, just thought i'd throw that in there.
