2005 Nissan 350Z Roadster Touring review from North America
"Great fun to drive, poor manufacturer backing"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Am I the only one who thinks replacing front brake pads AND ROTORS every 16000 miles, and rear tires every 13000 miles, is acceptable maintenance? I certainly don't.
Worse, when I learned that the early Infiniti G35 had the same brake rotor problem, and Nissan responded by
1) Giving a 36000 mile warranty on them, and
2) Fixing the problem in later years
I thought it reasonable that they do the same for the mechanically-identical 350Z.
Nissan's response: "it's a high-performance car, these are normal wear items...", in other words, TOUGH LUCK.
This is my 3rd Nissan Z in a row, and my favorite by far to drive, but if this is Nissan's way of handling a poor design, I'll never buy another one.
General comments?
As a sports car to drive, I love it. Pickup, handling, comfort are great.
Limited visibility, small rear window (it's a roadster).
Limited trunk space (I can live with it).
Outrageous maintenance costs (see problems above).
