1984 Nissan 720 Pickup 4x4 dx review from North America
"The best truck ever made!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
New fuel pump at 200,000.
New Transmission at 220,000
Blown head gasket at 230,000
Two new camshafts and head at 230,000
I need a new clutch now, but it seems to be hanging in there as long as I baby it.
Heater/Defrost fan unit went out at 230,000
General comments?
This truck is absolutely reliable.
I owned a 1983 2 wheel drive Nissan that my dad gave me. He purchased it new in 1983. By the time my sister totaled it in 1995, it had 340,000 miles and only one new transmission and clutch, with the original engine.
My current pickup is identical except I now have a 4x4. Nothing went wrong until recently. The body and interior are in mint condition, but the mechanics are starting to show their age.
I have no intentions of selling this truck any time soon. I recommend this vehicle to anyone looking for a first time truck for their kids that is inexpensive, reliable, safe, and won't get them any into any trouble.
