2007 Nissan Altima 2.5S review from North America

1. Second day, less thabn 60km on car,, brand spanking new.. Horn no longer works, or has never work. I didn't test it the day I took possesion of the vehicle.

2. paint. is it made out of butter or what? Feels like a rain drop, if it hits hard enough, will chip the paint. There seems to be a lot of cases and complains from nissan altima/maxima owners in regards to the paint quality. My father CRV 2 years old doesn't even come close to the amout of chips I develop the first week of ownership. I had to purchase a bra for the car at a cost of 140.00 CAD + touch up paint.. and yes, it looks aweful.

3. The worst part of all, and I am fighting with the dealer and nissan in regards to this.

KNOCKING/Ticking sound coming from engine at 2400km and 1 month of ownership!. Nissan Canada wants me to take a replacement engine in a new BRAND SPANKING NEW, 1 month old vehicle? I have not even made a single payment to this car yet, and Nissan wants to already repalce the engine!. For petes sakes, I am not going to take that as an alternative. I am hoping some other owners out there are having the same issues and will contact me. Hopefully Nissan will read / hear about this.

My first vehicle I ever purchased was a 280Z, then went up the ranks to the 1986 300zx. That's how I came to know the nissan brand and expected quality, performace, at a affordable price.

However, with Nissan Canada wanting me to replace the engine with another one... for a new CAR, less than 1 month old.. I am starting to loose faith is the brand.
