Rattle from engine area on cold start up. Seats not finshed at factory - coming apart Chips in paint.
I love my car wish I bought the SL package with leather as I don't like the cloth arm rests on door and console. It gets dirty easily. I like CVT transmission, but the 4 cyl is a little loud. My main complaint is a rattling from the engine on startup. I returned to dealer to fix problems and they told me this was because of an aftermarket oil filter that I used during an oil change (? yeah right) Because it has done this since day one with a Nissan oil filter and now with the Nissan oil filter they installed. I have seen several comments on the internet with the same described problem as mine. Brakes are already starting to squeak - I do have a long commute each day to work 100 miles daily so maybe they are just wore out? Who knows?
Trust me, get your brakes checked before it leads to an expensive repair. Read all the complaints about the bad brakes on Altimas and you'll be glad you took my advice. The brakes are junk, especially the rear brakes. I drive 80 miles a day, all highway, and mine were gone after 40K! Should have lasted twice this long.
The rattling at the startup is your heat shield.. nothing too expensive...
