2002 Nissan Altima S review from North America
"Good looking piece of junk"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Bad catalytic converter.
Bad engine block below the head gasket.
Bad O2 sensor.
General comments?
Did everything by the book. Out of five previous cars, this is the only one that left my kids and I stranded.
After two pages of recall fixes, the engine died. Dealer said the recalls had nothing to do with engine failure because they were fixed, and that the cat converter was the cause, which is not on the recall.
The cat converter is one the main complaints of Nissan Altima owners. I guess the cat converter will be the next recall in line.
Overall cost for repairs, which would probably not fix the problem, even after an engine change, is over $6000.00. The car is worth about $4000.00 to 6000.00, if that.
My advice is if you own an Altima, get rid of it.
