1993 Nissan Altima XE review from North America
"Problem vehicle if you don't have money to repair it"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Alternator failed at 94,000 miles. Repair ran close to $400.
Timing chain slipped out of place at about 94,500 miles. Required complete tune-up.
Radiator hoses continue to bust. Replaced Radiator at 98,000 miles, with all new hoses. Repair very costly.
Gas exchange mechanism defect, causing the car to stop without any type of instrumental notice. Replaced all components of this system. Repair was a little under $300.
Interior plastic rattles while car is idle.
Rear windows stopped operating.
Rear window defroster takes too long to clear window.
Drive becomes stiff after changing manufacturer size tires and wheel package.
General comments?
After a little modification car runs faster.
Even though a little stiff, the handling has improved.
Fake wood dash looks really cheap.
