1996 Nissan Altima GXE review from North America
"Why would a drive chain go at 60K?"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Drive chain, tensioners, cover. With less than 60k on the car I went into my dealer for the required service only to be told these parts were failing and needed replacement or the engine would lockup and render vehicle useless. I was told that these parts should go 100K easily... What happened...who knows? All I know is that I've gently used the car (less than 10K per year), did all the suggested maintenance, and get clobbered with a 2000 repair bill on a car worth only 3k-3.5k as trade?
I am definitely NOT happy, and Nissan motors of USA is doing little to help with the dealership... infact they support the dealer on all matter of repair... note other private garages suggest it may not be the problem.
Interior did not hold up well lots of tears in fabric seats. Even though I am only passenger 90% of time!
General comments?
Help...don't buy this Japenese for long run.
