1996 Nissan Altima SE review from North America
"Good bargain, but check each one out"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Brakes were worn all the way around prematurely in my opinion.
Alignment seemed to need adjusting more than necessary.
CV boots disinigrated before 85,000 miles.
Has a whine and rattle intermitantly.
General comments?
We bought this car used at 51,000 miles and have in general got our money's worth.
It's resale value is lower than most other comparable cars which is good for the buyer.
Interior has held up well.
Very bad gas mileage for such a small car. Never better than 23-24 mpg.
The turning radius on this Altima is very poor. You need a lot of room to turn such a small car.
Great for a second car for reliabilty and price, but fuel economy is not so good.
