The front axles had to be replaced at 110K.
The exhaust pipe needed welded back together at 110K.
The driver's side seatbelt retractor no longer works.
The dome light only turns on occasionally. Hitting it will make it come on.
The alternator went at 120K.
The distributor went at about 150K.
The timing chain makes noise because the guide is gone.
I inherited the car, and haven't thought about buying another since.
The ride is smooth, and the engine has some kick.
I wish that the turning radius were not quite so huge.
Also, I agree that the hubcaps are so easy to lose. I think I have lost about 5 or 6 in the time that I have owned this car.
I wish that the rear seats folded down. This makes for a lot of trouble when trying to transport anything wider or longer than the trunk.
It never ceases to amaze me when people say they got a lemon or bad car because they had to replace parts or do minor maintenance on a vehicle with anything over 100,000 miles. Cars must be taken care of (preventative maintenance) in order to run smoothly! My Acura Legend has 250,000 miles and runs like new because it has been maintained properly. Parts failing on cars as they age is no more unreasonable than illnesses falling upon people as they get older! Replacing an alternator at 150K is very reasonable, as would replacing tires at 50K. Time and mileage are facts of life.
That's funny I think the only thing that hasn't happened to my 94 altima gxe yet is the altenator. The latch in the trunk stopped working. But The brakes I replaced at 135000 miles.. Axle at about 130,000 I have put a lot of work into this car in the past year. Everyone still knows that they need to look and see if their airbags are recalled I know ours were.
