1999 Nissan Altima GLE review from North America
"Above average, cheaper than camry and accord"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Basic maintenence at 109,000, brake pads, tires, spark plugs, air filter, etc.
I just don't yet know if I need a new timing chain... I don't know how long they are suposed to last in Altima's, I guess ill find out.
General comments?
This car is good... Very comfortable, especially back seat room. Off the line, acceleration is pretty good, but passing speed isn't up to par. The GLE, fully loaded model, is well equiped. Remote starter, power seats, etc. It's a good highway cruiser, but bad in the city. Gas mileage is about 22 MPG in the city, which is a bit below average for a 4 cylinder, although some say the Altima's power feels somewhat like a v-6. Highway mileage is about 26 MPG. Overall I am glad I bought this car... It is comfortable, cool, and doesn't perform like a lemon.
