1984 Nissan Bluebird TRX review from Australia and New Zealand
"OLD SCHOOL!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Clutch master and slave due to fitting of extreme clutch.
Badly cracked head at 230000 K's.
2 diffs blown within 2 weeks of each other (the series 3 diff is stronger).
Heater matrix started seaking but is simple to bypass(not bad for 20 years old).
Rusting rear window is rather unsightly.
Dizzy.
General comments?
This car is a classic shape and is totally old school. Sure it is no V8 beater, but it takes on VL loosers.
It is very advanced for its time as it is a sohc with electronic ignition with 4 wheel disk brakes.
It also has a McFerson strut front end similar to the R31 skyline import RB20.
The seats are the most comfortable factory seats I have ever been in and I work for a motor trimmers!!! But I still replaced the drivers with a racing "Recaro".
The electronic dash has its moments, but looks cool when the lights are changes colour.
With Twin carbs off the SSS Datsun, that bolt on directly. making the car run better with the satge 3 camshaft. it puts out a decent 190 hp at the rear wheels @ 6200 rpm with a set extractors and 2 and 1/4 inch exhaust.
