1991 Nissan D21 Pickup 4X4 review from North America
"Tough truck that tends to rust"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The first few years and many miles were fairly carefree except regular maintenance.
At 70K I replaced the first clutch.
Then most of the front end parts wore out. Lots of tire replacements, even though I have had the front end aligned many times.
The body, especially the long bed, has rusted out a lot. I have repaired the long bed many times over the years with fiberglass patches, but the rust has consumed the long bed and the rear fenders. I also have rusting along the top ridge of the windshield, and now the windshield leaks every time it rains.
General comments?
Overall this has been a well used and tough truck for the money.
I have had this truck for close to 16 years, and it has paid for itself many times.
The rust and need to keep the front end aligned are the most noteworthy complaints.
Get the 4 cylinder engine and not the V-6.
