1991 Nissan Hardbody Pickup Shortbed review from North America

Passenger wiper unscrewed itself once during a rainstorm. I tightened it up and haven't had this problem again.

Driver's door handle was having problems opening. Opened up the door, adjusted the lock and it works fine now.

Contacts went bad in the headlight control switch because they were really dirty. Had to buy a whole new switch, but it works better now.

Aside from a few minor problems, my experience with this truck has been great!

Something that should be noted about the repairs was that everything that I replaced or fixed was still original from '91, and this is 10 years later and just now it's having minor problems.

These trucks run great. The 2.4 liter engine really performs for a 4 cylinder in a truck. My friend in Montata owns a 1989 Nissan Pickup (almost the same truck) and runs it at speeds upwards of 95 MPH everywhere he goes and he doesn't have any problems with his. The engine burns really efficiently and I get anywhere between 20 and 24 miles per gallon while I'm doing around town driving.

It's definitely not just for driving, though! I've hauled everything from weeds and dirt to outdoor tiles to refrigerators and other heavy appliances in this truck and it still has enough pulling power to go up a steep grade at 45 MPH.

Change your oil every 3 months or 3,000 miles and keep up with all the regular maintenance (tire inflation & rotation, brake pad replacement, spark plugs, etc.) and this truck will last you a long time. I'm just finishing my senior year of high school now and I plan to drive this truck until I finish college.
